Another Lion

The face of a lion with the words "There is another lion" describing the subject of the post.Thank you, JS, for helping me recognize it was His roar I heard. For helping me put my sword down and worship.

Two Lions

I heard the lion roaring;

His terrible strength

Keeping me from sleep.

I trembled at my window;

Peering into night;

Aware of his hunger.

My sword hangs at my side;

My armor scratched and dull–

Second skin.

I have lived ready,

Alert,

On guard these long years.

I know he wants to devour me.

But I resist;

And I remember my family around the world who also suffer.

I am not alone.

As I strain to see his position,

A voice like silver

Shimmers in my ear,

There is another Lion.

The air changes;

The darkness becomes Light.

The other Lion roars;

I am disarmed.

Louder,

Louder…

Closer..!

I bury my head in His mane.

Tears soaking,

Sobs of relief.

I am safe.

He came for me!

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1 Peter 5:7-9

I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.

Revelation 5:4-5

It may seem to many of us that the enemy who prowls around like a lion looking for someone to devour has had his fair share in 2021. We have become used to his roaring. We have grown sleepless and weary, always defensive, always anxious and watchful.

But there is another Lion roaring today, and He has triumphed. Rise, peer into the dark unknown of the new year ahead and listen.

The Lion of Judah roars in triumph and in tenderness. He became the Lamb who was slain and with His blood, He purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. To Him belong all praise and honor and glory and power.

Listen.

Bury your head in His mane and put your sword down awhile.

Let’s go into the new year with our ears open for the roar of another Lion. The Lion of Judah is His name, and He fights for the family of believers throughout the earth. #2022 Click To Tweet

Lord, how can I thank You for roaring with power to save me from the enemy? Thank you! Thank you, my Lion and my Lamb, my Lord. Amen.
