Surrounded by Steadfast Love

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.

Psalm 32:10

The steadfast love of the Lord is exceptional.

Unlike what we commonly call love, His love will never tire of us.

Think on this.

The steadfast love of the Lord will never tire of you.

The love of the Lord does not grow weary. He does not know compassion fatigue. The Lord is not fatigued by those who trust Him. He will not divorce you, ghost you, cancel you, or abandon you. You cannot wear His love out with your need.

Yes, troubles may surround you. Enemies. Problems you can’t seem to fix. Bills you can’t pay. Difficult relationships you can’t seem to sort. Illness. Loss. These are all things common to humanity. The world groans and twists in pain this new year and every year past.

Yet for those who trust in the Lord, there is another surrounding.

The steadfast love of the Lord surrounds those who trust in Him. And His love is enduring; it is everlasting strength to those who lean upon it.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

Isaiah 26:4-5, ESV

Lean ye on the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.

Isaiah 26:5, KJV

To be surrounded by the steadfast love of God is to be surrounded by strength. By peace. Mercy. Faithfulness. Help. Hope.

Not sorrow.

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.

What surrounds you at the start of this new year? Exchange your sorrows for trust in the One who surrounds His people with love and gives them everlasting strength. He is our rock, and He cannot be shaken. Not this year, no, no. Not any year ever.

Lord, I will trust in you today and every day in 2024. Amen.

Thank you for reminding me of His Steadfast Love. My 58 year old daughter had brain surgery on the 22nd of December. The tumor was removed and she’ll soon start chemotherapy and radiation. I’m believing our Lord Jesus for healing but my emotions keep butting in. Would appreciate your prayers. Thank you. Blessings!
